Ghana v England

by Tails » 29 Mar 2011 20:22

I'm actually enjoying this one to be honest with you guys. Good stop from Joe Hart when Ghana were put through for a one on one. Shit Downing shot aside, I have enjoyed England's ventures forward.

Hope it continues.

Good game this. Ghana are well up for it which is one reason, but England are rising to the challenge and playing with something to prove.

England on top.

'greed. I just have an irrational hate of Stewart Downing. Nowhere near good enough for England but he's always been talked up as a top player, and he isn't.

Cracking first half. Haven't said that about an England performance for I don't know how long.

Good game, cracking atmosphere generated by the Ghana fans.

Cahill looking a lot better than Jagielka in my eyes

Officially about 20k I heard.

Best friendly game for a long time as expected without the usual big names strolling around.

Defoe just isn't quite able to perform on the international scene with a typical England set up - consigned to the bench/squad - I'd have Carroll ahead of him now.

I think the midfield has demonstrated promise against a physical yet talented side - no place in the starting line up for the likes of Gerrard/Lampard for me - Wilshere should be amongst the first on the team sheet until the situation changes.

Walcott should be the only real change needed upfront.

And as I type - I think JT is safe at centre-back, just a case of finding a partner for him to mentor.

Welbeck was booed by the Ghana fans when he came on because he is qualified for Ghana as well. Would I boo my daughter if she played hockey or netball for Cameroon when she would also be qualified for England? Damned right I would!!
