Ghana got a late equalizer. From what I hear it was a very entertaining game, played with passion, which is the same as with the US-Argentina game Saturday night. Nice to see a friendly played at a high level of competitive intensity. And having watched them, Ghana, play the US in the last World Cup they're a very good, fit team with players with some major skillz.

African football is strange. They're all absolutely crazy about it!! When I was watching the World Cup, Ivory Coast were playing but Drogba didn't start. I said to my stepson, who's half Ivorian, that they'll struggle without Drogba, he said that they'd do better without him as when he's on the pitch, their only tactic is to pass the ball to Drogba. He was right. After Drogba came on Ivory Coast lost all semblence of a team and played the ball constantly to Drogba, who failed miserably. This Ghana team played as a team all through, even though they've got very skillful players. If all African teams can forge the individuality they've got into a team ethic, then they will be a force to be reckoned with.

A cracking game for the most part and some players have done themselves a world of good with their individual performances.

I didn't think Carroll played all that well apart from coming deep with his back to goal but he's well short of match sharpness and the tactic of playing wingers on the wrong sides doesn't play to his strength. He took his goal very well though.

Downing and Barry were both praised highly by the commentators but I didn't think either was that good to be honest. Downing played some locally reverse passes and linked well with Johnson but also gave the ball away too cheaply at times and didn't get one cross in from the right. Barry was tidy but still a too slow these days. He did what he does but we'll need a bit more dynamism in that position in the future.

Again Young looked a real threat. He and Cahill had very good games and I'd say they were the biggest winners from tonight.

Will Gerrard struggle to get back in that midfield? I wouldn't have thought so. Milner didn't do enough to jump ahead of Lampard or Gerrard. My only reservation about bringing Gerrard back in is that he won't fit in as well with the tippy tappy style we've seen over these two games.

I must know naff all about football because for the life of me I couldn't understand how the commentators were raving and about Barry, who as usual looked totally off the pace and ineffective, and Downing who looked utter gash and embarrassingly one footed playing on the wrong wing and incapable of putting in a decent cross. Still what do I know MOTM.

Personally I'd of given it to Cahill who looked solid and much better than Rio or Terry.

Did the 6 Ghana players get booked for jumping over the advertising boards when the equalised? One of them must have been on a yellow card.....

On the plus side, my mate went. He parked his car outside the ground, when he came back it had been washed.

This thread should really be called England v Ghana since it was at Wembley.

Went last night and loved it. There was a great feeling about the crowd on both sides, loved all the colourful outfits the Ghana fans wore and friendly banter. The match itself was open and entertaining. I didn't mind England fielding a second string since it bloods some recent callups and, judging by their performance I think it was a productive outting.

I should say tickets are reasonably priced, £22.50 for upper level or £17.50 if you've joined England Fan Club.

Roll on the Holland friendly.

Even I watched most of this and, for once, there was a friendly which looked as if it mattered. I enjoyed it for what it was. Two well taken goals but the highlight was the 20,000 odd Ghana fans still going hatstand 5 minutes after they scored. That's how to celebrate!

Was a reference to the amount of Ghanaian support; passed you by, I guess. Fair play for going though!

Yes sorry that went over my head, didn't mean to patronise you there.

A strange thing happened at the pub afterwards where the usual guys come round selling badges from a cork board only this one guy was black-British and had 'Blood & Honour' badges (Nazi group) Confusing to say the least.

Black people are more than welcome to be extreme right-wing but I just thought 'Blood & Honour' would be a bit of a strange allegiance (assuming he actually knew who they were)

As a side point, Joleon Lescott once again proved useless.

Blatant push on the Ghana bloke seconds before he got the ball from Downings miss-control

He's certainly got a hint of Alan Shearer about him

Tony Daley was a good one for example, Danny Wallace, that guy who used to play for Carlisle

Jimmy is undecided between extreme left and extreme right. AV was invented for him.
