Allen walks out on doomed Barnet after 19 days for League One strugglers Notts County.

What a ridiculous chap he is.

He was on the managers scrap heap, given a chance by Barnet and leaves them in the $hit for Notts who are rubbish and going down anyway. Very disappointing from MA.

Joke of a man. He was doing a good job at Barnet, and should have seen it through to the end of the season.

Wanted Barnet to stay up as a result of him being there - can't believe he's left them up shit creek !

I think this is out of order myself. Barnet gave him an opportunity and he's spurned them.

But you can see why he's done it, so Notts Co. are by no means blameless.

Just read online that he was working at Barnet on a non-contract basis which changes my opinion. Fair play to him.

Barnet haven't got any money. He came back to the club in the spirit of someone with old Barnet connections coming back to have a good go at saving the club, and had an 8 game contract with them (of which he's seen out 3 games).

For the past few weeks he's been banging out all kinds of shit about Barnet's chances of staying up and how much it has touched him to have so many messages of support for the club. And now he's shat all over that for cash from Notts County.

Football's built on emotion, and a former manager coming back to save a club is quite powerful. He's played into all that with everything he's said since he came back (after being out of management for a year and a half following his hopelessness at Cheltenham) and now he's fucked off, leaving the club in the lurch.

As I told Spacey many years ago, during his last season at Reading he was regarded as a joke by the team of the time. He can certainly have a very positive impact when he first arrives, can't take that away from him, but his aggressive style loses him respect after a while.

His average time in a managerial job (excl Notts Co of course) is now less than 10 months so he will do very well to last the 12 months roadrunner suggests.

I suppose he has some slight entertainment value but personally speaking I think the guy's a Grade 1 pillock.

So you were on first name terms with the players in the team at that time? Huh? Somehow I don't believe it. You carry on believing in your own importance.

Just the one. No other claims of similar knowledge made at any time in the 9 years since. Why you would choose to disbelieve me is something only you can answer.

Well, you're no different to the countless number of people who say "my friend's brother is mates with player x....". Whether you believe that yours is more important than others is up to you.

Barnet say Allen had agreed a short-term contract at Underhill until the end of the season but he insisted nothing was signed.
Allen said he had nothing to feel guilty about. "Barnet are now set up to not get relegated," he said. "I've got to look after myself and my family and I've got bills to pay.

Well, that's not a denial from Allen that there was something agreed.
