southbank1871 I doubt the guy is by any means made of money, so whilst it's pretty shit for Barnet, if he's offered a 12 month contract somewhere I can see why's he's taken it. I suspect many of us would do the same in his situation.

SpaceCruiserRoyal Rother Just the one. No other claims of similar knowledge made at any time in the 9 years since. Why you would choose to disbelieve me is something only you can answer.
Well, you're no different to the countless number of people who say "my friend's brother is mates with player x....". Whether you believe that yours is more important than others is up to you.

southbank1871 Oh yeah, I'm not disputing he's a complete helmet, but would we expect anything else from him?

Svlad Cjelli MA did a very open and honest interview yesterday on 5Live.
Basically he said I've got a family to support, I was offered a better paid job on a longer-term contract, compared with a poorly-paid, short-term role where there's no long-term commitment.
People who want loyalty from managers need to look at just how many clubs show loyalty to their managers each season.

More important? Christ, what does that even mean?

Royal Rother As always, he brings a dynamism and freshness that works for a while. Short sharp shock tactics are his game.
If your (lower league) team is lacking spirit (tenacity and flair?) and needs a kick up the backside then there are few better than Martin Allen. But it won't last long.

Royal Rother As I told Spacey many years ago, during his last season at Reading he was regarded as a joke by the team of the time. He can certainly have a very positive impact when he first arrives, can't take that away from him, but his aggressive style loses him respect after a while.
His average time in a managerial job (excl Notts Co of course) is now less than 10 months so he will do very well to last the 12 months roadrunner suggests.
I suppose he has some slight entertainment value but personally speaking I think the guy's a Grade 1 pillock.
