Weekend 30th/1st

by roadrunner » 30 Apr 2011 15:31

Barnsley lead at Bramall Lane and could send Sheff Utd down today.

Plymouth and the mercy of Daggers today who are leading. That will send Plymouth down to L2 to accompany Swindon. 8)

Forest 3-1 up to all but book the top six with Leeds missing out, albeit a +4 GD as it stands.

Wigan leading Everton 1-0 leaving West Ham 5 points behind on the foot of the table with a game in hand. Sweet.

Everton score a penalty in the dying minutes which changes everything and throws West Ham a lifeline.

Chelsea tie it up 1-1 with Tottenham. Lampard's goal barely crosses the line and controversy ensued.
Tied at Half time.

Who needs goal line technology? Only a PL title (just) and the millions of CL at stake.

I don't agree with goal line technology and I'm dead against it

Also worth a note that after that result, the Europa League spot is in Liverpool's (as well as Spurs') hands. Win all remaining games, and Kenny has got the relegation candidates into Europe.

Because:

1. I believe everything is evened out. Most of the time if you lose a decision, you'll get one you shouldnt have in another game.

2. I think it makes it far more interesting, exciting and controversial. Eg, Talking points, the reaction of the crowd and manager who goes mad but no one really knows if it was in or not.

Football is a game, not a machine and it puts me off having some laser or whatever signal when it's over. I'd rather have a human judge that - ie the ref.

These incidents are rare enough that it doesn't 'even itself out'. How many ghost goals have Chelsea scored in CL semi-finals in the last 6 years?

Why can't Spurs make up their fucking mind? I remember when the played at Old Trafford and they complained about a goal not being given despite the ball being over the line. Now they complain about a goal being given even though it wasn't over the line. WFT?!?!?

Does anyone really want to play in the Europe league? Its a sh*t tournemount and it completely messes up your fixtures having to play on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons for the majority of the season. Add to that an increase in games meaning players will get more tired/increased chance of injury. I think Liverpool/Spurs are better off avoiding it and concentrating on getting into the top 4 for the next season.

Ba pulls one back. C'mon City.

45+2 Balotelli does brilliantly to intercept the ball and then receives an elbow from Da Costa and goes down to the ground in a style similar to Call of Duty.

Plymouth relegated after a 3-1 home defeat to Southampton (who are effectively promoted).

What ever happened to T-Rex?
