That's a pretty skillz record to be fair, you just have to wonder why they were so gash away relatively speaking

PlasticRoyale Damn you WBA

Missed a penalty too IIRC. It's a shame as 'United fans would have one less thing to bang on about had it been converted.

Presume you were at the match yesterday?

must have been a cracking atmosphere.
I went to old trafford once.
Ended up sat between those fellas with the turbans.
Utd's top lads.
Brilliant atmosphere. Managed to catch most of it on my camera phone.
Most other people were doing the same.
also went to the mega store. wow! what a selection.

as far as I am aware, in all competitions, only 1 away team has kept a clean sheet at old trafford this season

Silver Fox That's a pretty skillz record to be fair, you just have to wonder why they were so gash away relatively speaking

They were talking about this on the radio this morning.
Whereas last season and the one before both Chelsea and Man Utd reached double figures in league wins away from home this season they have won just 5 which is the same as Newcastle and Blackpool.
If Chelsea and Arsenal had been as strong as Man Utd at home either of them could have been champions as they have won 7 and 8 away games respectively.
It is clear that teams are daunted playing them at Old Trafford but not so when they play them at home.

This is one of the great mysteries of football and always has been that some teams can be enormously different at home or away and regarding Reading I can remember one season when the home/away results were directly opposite.
Just for the record in 1956/7 we won 13 home games but lost 13 away,we drew 4 home games compared to 5 away and we lost 6 home games compared to 5 wins away.
Under the old points system we played 46 games and got 45 points.
Here endeth the snowballesque post.

As an afterthought congratulations to Man Utd who have for so many years bought better than other clubs and (obviously they have the dough to do it)when they spend big at around £30million (Ferdinand,Rooney,Berbatov)under Ferguson they generally get it right.

They've won more games away in the CL than in the PL.

If they translated that form across they'd have had the title sewn up months ago.

As an afterthought ,Terry for Chelsea and Giggs and O'Shea for Man Utd were the only players of the 22 starters produced by those clubs.
Not sure what that says about our football other than maybe to be successful nowadays you just have to go out and buy.
City to be champions next season?

Take away Tevez City have spent 150 million on strikers since the Arabs took over. Net return 12 goals. Henandez 7 million 20 goals you have to hand it to the old fox.
