I have done a stadium tour so yes reading does do (or cetainally has done) stadium tours

There is a trophy display in one of the hospitality areas (I think it is the vice presidents club)

It may well be called "the trophy room", although "room" may be stretching things a little.

However yes much of our history is recorded there heralding our trophies and other achievements.

The tour I did was superb, and much more "personal" than the tours you have of "bigger" grounds where you have many tourists and a tight timetable to fit in.

The tour at the Nou camp you do not have a guide, you do at the mad stad!

Not at all. It's quite a profitable enterprise for clubs, but I never really see Stadium tours advertised for the club. To me, if I turned up at the Madejski today - I get the impression you wouldn't be able to do much except go in the club shop, hotel and walk around the outside of the stadium.

I would also think the club should get some sort of museum together, there must be lots of old memoribilia they could show, old shirts, medals, pictures etc. Just seems a waste not having one and this could be incorporated into the stadium tour.

I'm looking at Manchester United as a business model. You do the tour, take in the museum and finish the Red Cafe for refreshments. I know they have a bigger captive audience, but surely Reading could do something similar on a smaller scale. Perhaps they should have regular tours in the summer holidays when parents and kids are looking for something to do.

The stadium tour at the madejski needed to be pre booked, if it sstill runs that will be the case. I found the details perviously on the club website

reading is perhaps not the tourist attraction that Wembley or the emirates is with tours leaving ever hour

In fact, looking on the website it did not take long to find the following

So yes basically they do have a similar model, on a smaller scale.

But it's a lot better than the Wembley tours, which, IMHO, is so artificial and stage-managed it's the sort of thing Tussuad's or Disney would organise. Everything to set timings and a set script (with required audience participation!).

The Madejski tour is so much more enjoyable because its informal and personal.
