zummerset I think that the definition given by the OP is incorrect in some respects - 'greatness' is a subjective description. You kind of know it when you see it - it is all about the history, the fans, the ground, great players etc.
For example Aston Villa aren't great and probably neither is Chelski

If this is a serious thread, rather than a wind-up (which I suspect it is) then greatness is a definition borne of the times you are in; for example, in the 1930's Huddersfield would have been seen by everyone as a "great" team, in the 1950's (when Liverpool were a mediocre 2nd Division team) Wolves and Arsenal would have been seen as "greats".
