A chance of gaining promotion is always a big deal and will attract casual fans as a result.

Jerry St Clair We got absolutely nowhere near fulfilling our last play-off final allocation in 2001.

We sold out our initial allocation and had to request some of walsalls. Eventually we sold nearly 40,000 to their 15,000.

Are you really suggesting filling over 50% of a 75,000 seated stadium with Reading fans for a third tier match wasn't enough or did you simply make up your statement?

We took 35,000 at LEAST to the millenium against walsall in division two, before we were anywhere NEAR the premiership. Our support has increased since those days. Says it all.

Yeah, not sure what he's on about. I remember for a good few years we had the record for the most fans from any one team at the millenium.

I'm not sure we would for the 30th May. Several people I've spoken to have said they've already booked their holidays over then and they won't change them regardless of how much they support the club.

Looking at last years play off final ticket allocation, each team received 37,500 tickets.

Had we made the final in 2009, we would have been allocated 36,011. Prices:

Category 1: £74 adults / £37 concessions
Category 2: £62 adults / £31 concessions
Category 3: £50 adults / £25 concessions
Category 4: £34 adults / £17 concessions
Club Wembley: £98 adults / no concessions

Obviously the prices would have gone up, but I think we'd easily be able to fill our allocation within a week of going on sale to member with no points.

Agreed. Would be staggered if demand fell below 40,000 for a Wembley PO final.

I know this is tempting fate to even talk about Wembley, but there is no way I could sit in the third tier right at the back - so I guess I'd have to pay the more expensive prices.

Bound to make it, as I cannot attend, won't be far away in Hemel Hempstead, I think we will fill our allocation.

With ease. Cup finals with league two clubs fill it, play off finals for Leagues one and two fill it, so this is an obvious no-brainer.

Of course we would fill it!

We've done it before in the past! We filled Cardiff too - if anything we are better supported now.

I hope if we get to the final there isn't going to be too much moaning on here about "day trippers". First of all they help on the day. Secondly I love it when the nans, sisters, and mates who don't support Reading, etc., all get on board for a day out, and there's a sense of the whole town going up for the day. Also I'm not one of these people who is less excited about the Premier because we've done it before. It would seem just as much a miracle to me as it did before; when we went down I never expected to see it again.

I sat about half way up the 3rd tier for the FA Cup final and Community Shield - view is gr8. Long way up, but its escul8tors all the way.

I was watching in a bar in Spain. Kamara said at one point 'poor turn-out from the Reading fans as it's just down the M4', failing to notice 1. we had sold our allocation and more 2. Walsall is only about 10 miles further 3. he kept banging on about Walsall being the bigger club (they had come down the previous season). A Twat of the first order then, now and always

I absolutely love the fact you still bare this grudge. Awesome!

And can someone delete this thread or move it to rumour?
