Cardiff not sold out for tomorrow night . . .

by riverroyal » 16 May 2011 12:32

So Cardiff City, whose fans thought they should have had more tickets at Reading as we never sold out, have not sold out either!!

Only the away section and two other sections are sold out. Seats availalbe in every other section of their ground.

What is that annoying song about spaces over there, and there...? I hate it usually but the cocky sods were singing it at us and deserve a few verses back.

I don't think it's really fair to take this piss out of the fans in attedance for those haven't bothered/can't afford it.

That's the first time I've ever added someone to the foe list on the basis of one post.

So pay on the night then? Anyone going to ring Cardiff tomorrow and ask or drive down there and chance it? So long as you dress neutrally and can manage to not get too carried away or upset then it should be feasible to survive :D

That post could be renamed "The lament of the Modern Football Fan"; fans of ALL clubs nowadays feel that they are on the outside looking in, watching players who (generally) don't give a flying one about the club they play for and, to be fair, why should they? Its a job for them. How many of us really give a to$$ about the companies WE work for (unless its your own company of course!) over and above the "are they still in business so I can get paid at the end of the Month?" level....

No-one FORCES you to spend your money on supporting/following a football team; its a personal choice, and there are other things available to spend your money on. Therefore, if you do choose to support Cardiff or Reading or whoever, stop bleating about how you aren't part of things (diddums), how players are mercenary, how Managers/players/Chairman don't "care" as much as you do, and accept the situation, enjoy the ride - both good and bad - as best as you can, and stop wallowing in self pity for a lost "golden age" of supporting your club that disappeared 20+ Years ago.

.... or do what you can to get involved. Engage with the club you support, engage with whatever supporters' organisation(s) it has, participate in the FSF. There is strength in numbers if people care enough and mobilise.

But certainly, either live with it as Mr A says or do something to change it. Putting a few moaning posts on a message-board won't change anything.

The main gripes seemed to be the apathetic noises coming from Jones, who is presumably trying to relieve some of the pressure from his players and the fact that the STHs have to pay for this additional game.

I thought this thread was about Cardiff not Liverpool.

Cardiff - Not a sell out

by The Prisoner » 17 May 2011 16:14

Having been quite vocal about being 3,000 light of capacity on Friday night it seems that Cardiff haven't sold out for tonight:
http://www.ccmb.co.uk/fudforum/index.php?t=msg&th=274010&start=0&rid=0&S=31bdd966fd776ba282afc05d343a5432

Failing to sell out - what's going on?
By Gareth Rogers on May 17, 11 10:44 AM in

To be honest, I am in disbelief that tonight's game is not a sell out.

It's been the big talking point (apart from Swansea's win) of the week and today the Echo designated it's entire front page to issuing a rallying call.

But what on earth is going on here?

You'll tell from my earlier posts that I'm devastated by not making automatic promotion and I worry greatly about losing to Reading tonight and think the Swans are in the driving seat for a Wembley win.
But all that added to last year's horror won't stop me getting into the ground early tonight and screaming for my team.

And quite frankly if the fear of failure is sopping you going tonight, then grow up!

I understand if financially you genuinely can't afford the ticket in these tough times. But I'm sure most would find the money for a Wembley trip and I suddenly feel bad for mocking Reading for thier rows of empty seats.

Basically, the message from the heart today is, if you're in any doubt about tonight then put all your fears behind you and get behind the boys as loudly and passionately as you physically can.
Then if they do fail tonight, we'll all begin the inquest together tomorrow morning.
