Is this the most exciting time ever for Club Policies?

by Maguire » 20 May 2011 12:42

I've been browsing this site for some years now and I can't ever remember clicking on this board as frequently as I have the last two days.

These are glory days for Club Policies, unrivalled IMO even by the evolution of spectacular threads such as Stadium Expansion and ST Renewal.

We should celebrate.

I'm celebrating with a sausage roll and a Crunchie.

I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

I'm no stranger to Club policies, in fact it's probably my third favourite board after AE and Classifieds, but yes it's been a good week.

There's a bit of crossover with the Team and even Meating Up - not got for the board pedants but gr8 but for the casual observer.

For some it has been an emotional week, watching you all sorting tickets, arranging pubs etc. While we cannot go.

Why can't you go m8? Can you expand on this?

For me, it didn't get better than the Man City tickets thread, but this is certainly a time to be proud of what Club Policies can be. Let's be honest, it's usually just Dirkers showing how much more than everyone else he knows about stuff isn't it?

I quite like the threads having a pop at the catering or the stewards.

I'm mildly suprised you're a fan of Classifieds, Red. It's right down there with Competitions, STAR, and Radio Berks for me.

Club Policies has its place, but generally I file it as a board for people who care about the things I don't care about.

I think my love of the classifieds board comes with finding the hidden gems of banter in there. They're all the better for being unexpected.

STAR I like too TBH, but Radio Berks hasn't really reached critical volume of posts or posters.

As ever, in Hemel at a canal festival, would lose about 500 plus cost of tickets, passed member card to The Prisoner to help him out. However we will be the only fans in Reading shirts at the event, and have a magnetic sign ready for the trip home when we win. Could well be back at the Stadium when the team return victorious.

I think these are the Halcyon days for Club policies when fluctuating support and limited ticket options result in an uneasy compromise.

Numbers aside, can't help thinking the totally off-topic politically incorrect banter in some of the mega threads on AE (or even the largely unpoliced Team section) was the hayday. Too many other social media channels these days to ever recapture that, so good to see the traffic up where it matters.
