I think all 3 teams will lose and so Wigan and Blackpool will go down. The whole thing about teams being more likely to lose if they have nothing to play for isn't really true. In fact, when the pressure's off, they often play better, as shown by Spurs yesterday.

Spurs were playing for that last European Place though - if they lost then it would have been Liverpools

Wigan are in form and I think will beat a deflated Stoke side. Blackpool will be lucky to lose by just one goal and because of that I think the slim hope they have of staying up on goal difference wont make a difference. Birmingham are in free-fall and I fancy them to drop and acompany Blackpool and West Ham.

I think it will be Blackpool and Birmingham. Blackpool will get beat at Man Utd and concede a hatful in the process. For Birmingham, they have been sliding very quickly down the table and normally a side who defensively are reliable have looked relatively shakey (absence of Dann has been a big blow). My Wigan STH mate has been adament they will stay up for months and they're recent form has been pretty decent, although Stoke will be a difficult match.

'Greed. But they don't have to win or even draw it - losing by not many will be enough if Blackpool & Birmingham lose by lots.

Wolves on a decent run at the moment too, expect them to win.

Can't be bothered to work out the maths on who will go down after this.

Expect at least one of the games to have a late kick off or some delay (probably Stoke) so it could be a team in the bottom three at full time in their game may well stay up on the result of a later finishing game.

I want to see WIgan stay up. I've got a lot of respect for Martinez and it would be good to see them stay in the division whilst trying to play decent football. They have got some dead-wood in their side though so will be in trouble again next season if they don't invest. It's also refreshing to hear the chairman back the manager whatever the outcome is.

I feel the opposite about Birmingham. I'd like to see them go down and I don't like their manager very much either. They've got some decent players but they've been shipping a hatful of goals recently so it wouldn't surprise me if they did drop too.

I think Blackpool will get beaten by a similar 'United side to the one that beat Shalke so convincingly a few weeks ago. Some of the fringe players will have the chance to impress ahead of the Champions League final and I think they'll have too much for Blackpool despite the latter's brilliant spirit.

I wouldn't like to see Blackburn go down either. There's definitely a lot of work that needs to be done there, but they have some fantastic players, like Olsson, Hoilett, Samba, N'Zonzi, etc.

Do you have a m8 who's got an ST at each club?

You seem to know someone from everywhere which is quite sad really, going out of your way at england games to make friends.

Does it take into account goal difference? - ie, if blackpool lose only 1-0 and Birmingham lose 3-0, Brum will be down

Last year 31 points would have kept you up. This year a team could go down with 40. Illustrates a more even division, I guess.

Difference between CL place and relegation:

10/11 (with a game left) - 28
09/10 - 40
08/09 - 38
07/08 - 40
06/07 - 30
05/06 - 33

06/07 looks similar to this season, but it is skewed by the fact that United and Chelsea finished 21 and 15 points ahead of third, respectively. Again 05/06, Arsenal in 4th were 15 points behind Liverpool in 3rd.

Schards#2 Just realised that Blackpool could lose and still stay up, Birmingham just need to lose by one more. There is hope.

Blackpool have brought more to the Premeirship in one season than Birmingham/Wigan/Blackburn combined. I hope they survive and wouldn't rule it out as Fergie will, no doubt, show his respect for the competition by fielding a reserve team.

+1

I remember they fielded one of the weakest United teams I can remember at Hull and still won. If you were in Fergies shoes would you risk Rooney Hernandez Park Valencia before the CL final? It's strange as it's United everyone takes the moral high ground but any manager in his position would do exactly the same. You have 38 games to stay up maybe if Holoway had fieldid a full strength team at Villa they would have won and Sundays game would be irrelavent.

With Blackpool surely facing the inevitable Ian Holloway is still able to pull out a press conference like this. I want that man's babies.
