gazzer, loyal royal Blackpool conceded 74 league goals this year, and Birmingham only scored 37.

you can't do that in the premier league and expect to stay up

78 goals - the 74 was touted prior to the United game.

Interestingly, United score 78 in the league this year.

"How could a team that has scored 4 goals against United this season be relegated?"

errr, because they also conceded 7 in those two games and didn't win. :|

A fine achievement by Roberto Martinez and Wigan. On his appointment Martinez maintained that it would take two years to achieve the blend that would see Wigan playing the way he wanted. With a Chairman that understands football and business, and not being undermined by a board member closely related to a former defensive long ball fanatic, this is exactly what he has done. A shame then that Reading passed up the opportunity to take a similar route eighteen months ago.
Martinez`Swansea team were brilliant when they played us off the park a couple of years ago and although we might win the play offs I reckon their present manager`s similar methods stand more chance of sustained success in the Premiership than our likely hoofballs down the wide open spaces of Wembley.

By pleasing symmetry, Wolves and Wigan both stayed up last season, scoring 32 and 37 goals respectively.

Royal Rother He's dry and witty. Holloway is wet and less witty than many seem to think.

Whereas, you, you're just.....wet.

Despite all the speculation, Fulham get the Europa League place through "Fair Play"

Can't understand the dislike for Holloway. Definitely toned down the last few years, has taken Blackpool to the Premiership and they only just didn't manage to survive. Excellent effort with their lack of resource. Give me Blackpool to watch over Chelsea, Bolton, blackburn, Wolves, Stoke, Birmingham, Everton, Villa, Man City, Sunderland and Newcastle any day of the week.

Always struck me as a genuine bloke whose tried to do things the right way, has had great success with smaller clubs where his style or way seems tog et the best out of people. He doesn't really have a go at people, refs, tell his players to kcik lumps out of the oppo or have a go at other managers like some of the utter c*nts in the Premiership, he has a bit of personality and isn't a cliche ridden overpaid tosspot, breath of fresh air. I also like Mick McCarthy who in a totally different style says the same things, tells it how it is.

^ this. Holloway is like marmite with regards his character, and if he was our boss I'm sure we'd probably be a bit fed up with some of his antics by now, but overall he seems pretty honest and genuine - two words you can't level at the premiership very often.

This.

To a certain extent I'd add Warnock as a character who doesn't give the normal tedious platitudes and tends towards honesty. Obviously he has the problem of being a git and actually telling his players go out there and kick lumps.
