Typical and very dignified of Scholes to make a quiet announcement and retire. Could easily have announced it mid season and had a big fuss made of him.

His pomp was 98 to 05 where he'd have got in any team in the world. Some of his goals were unreal.

Shame that Big Foot was just a bit too young to really appreciate Scholes in his prime.

Agree with Bandini that it's an easy thing to say that Scholes was not truly valued. However I do think it's only when you see quite how revered he was by those in the game you can really appreciate that for whatever reason we didn't make the most of his talent.
