Garden of Remembrance

by Barry the bird boggler » 16 Jun 2011 13:56

Royals fans are reminded that Madejski Stadium is now offering its own Garden of Remembrance, which is located close to the indoor training dome.

It was officially opened in April 2011 by Chairman Sir John Madejski and was created as a pleasant environment for people to sit in quiet reflection, as well as a place for those associated with the club to have their ashes scattered.

The garden itself was designed by STAR and Pastoral Prayer Team member Dave Strawn. Dave oversaw much of the work in developing the garden, aided by generous contributers who have provided benches, shrubs and plants.

Short services of committal can be arranged through contacting Reading FC Club Chaplain Steve Prince

I heard the surroundings are so good, you never want to leave.

I applied for a job as gardener but all they offered me was the graveyard shift.
