They're loaded (owners are releated to Man City's) and have so far signed Buonanotte, Van Nistelrooy, Toulalan, Monreal, Baptista, Demichelis and Mathijsen

Be interesting to see what they can do next(this) season

Toulalan is class
Van Nistelrooy knows where the net is
Demichelis is solid

As i said, they have new owners related to the family of Man City's.....expect some big signings or loans from City.

'greed. Give them 4 seasons and they'll be there or there abouts if the owners keep investing.

Been talk of them in the European Leagues thread for a while! Was my tip season before last to do something spectacular.....didn't happen.

Not impressed with Van Horsey at all but Toulalon is immense.

I'd say they'd be one to look out for before too long but chances are they'll have to settle into that cosy group of also-rans (Sevilla, Villareal, Atleti, Valencia, formerly Depor) behind Madrid and Barcelona. They had a good first season back in the top division a couple of years back when I was in Spain - finished 7th or 8th I think. Big, one-club city and oddly strong British contingent in the support due to all the expats there.

The stroll along the promenade at Malaga
- Sun glistening off the blue sea
- The feel of soft sand between the toes
- The women dressed in the latest fashions
- Bars spilling tables onto the beach
- The smell of Tapas and fresh fruit stalls

often reminds me of the walk from Picadilly Station to Eastlands
- Sun refelcting off shardes of broken glass
- the feel of a twisted ankle on broken paving
- The women in the latest Primark leisure wear fashions
- Bars spilling drunken abusive Macs onto the streets 10 mins before kick-off
- The smell of their piss

Think you are right

TBM They're loaded (owners are releated to Man City's) and have so far signed Buonanotte, Van Nistelrooy, Toulalan, Monreal, Baptista, Demichelis and Mathijsen

Be interesting to see what they can do next(this) season

The new owners took over in June 2010. Promised 5 world class signings and a 60,000 seater stadium. None of this happened and they ended up in a relegation fight. Malaga fans are extremely wary of the new owners who've promised much much, but delivered little.

It's been a whole year since they took over the club. I know you can buy money hungry players but you're never going to get the worlds best straight away, and as for the new stadium, they too take a while to build, let alone get approval from the authorities.

TBM Demichelis is solid

No one who has seen anything of him over the last couple of years would make so bold a claim.

When they first took over.

I'm thinking that JSC is recalling an excellent recent article in WSC regarding the creeping foreign ownership of Spanish clubs - piss-poor efforts in Santander have worried everyone, and Getafe are also having some concerns IIRC.
