Agreed. Can't believe this is the same side. Let's hope we hold on.

Well it's not, Pearce has made some poor selections that compounded our weaknesses and has changed some of those to make tonight's team quite different.

Some of our boys have come out with some credit and will surely make the step up to the senior side in the next year or so. We've also seem some of our frailties and weaknesses come to the fore again. Hopefully that will serve these guys, and the seniors, well in the future.

No country is gonna bring 20 odd players from one set of u21's. 1, 2, even 3 players from every 2 yearly tournament is more than enough. We have Wilshere, Caroll, Jones and Smalling... and there's a couple of others who seem decent enough.

We're just a nation of losers these days. Winning requires mental strength, and our footballers are basically retards.

There just wasn't enough passion out there . Oh and the usual technical frailties and ball retention issues.

genuine midfielders and wingers in their more favoured positions and low and behold we look a lot more composed and a much better balanced side.

Still rubbish. Ofcourse we looked balanced team, didn't you notce the Czechs tactics for the 75 mins. Destroyed us when they needed to.

I agree we still didn't look great, but we looked better and to be fair that's not easy to do at that level with so much chopping and changing.

The Cezchs didn't destroy us when they needed to either. They scored following a deflection and some very average defending by a centre forward and attacking midfielder. They had 15 minutes of throwing everything at us before that without causing us too many issues.

We need to be better yes, but it wasn't all bad.

I'm afraid they did. It was far, far too easy for them.

dump the "expect to win" psyche folks

This is England...the same place where the majority of our key teams field foreign players in favour of our home grown young ones.

Wake up...we are nothing more than average...............and we will continue to be average for the forseeable

I think "average" will be an achievement. Everyone else is getting better, we will continue to slide.

the problem with our players is they lack the skill we always hear about, but more so they are driven by money and fame, they're spoilt, and they're encouraged by greedy agents and as a result they lack the hunger we need. playing for england should be the ultimate honour, but it isn't any more. that's very sad!

What do you expect? This is a decent team, on the brink of elimination and throwing everything they have at another decent team for 15 minutes.

Even then we had

Lansbury's shot from edge of the box
Welbeck cynically blocked running through plus the resulting free kick
Welbeck's goalmouth scramble from Albrightons run down the right

They had a couple of long hopeful balls into the box that we coped easily with
Smalling sweeping up behind Jones which was quite under control
A header wide of the target that caused no trouble
The first goal

Anything after that is irrelevant really.

If that's getting destroyed then you've got some very unrealistic expectations.
