River Plate

by soggy biscuit » 26 Jun 2011 21:49

Relegated to the 2nd division for the first time.

2200 police at the game. Match held up for 20 minutes due to pitch invasion. Game abandoned in final minute due to violence. Reports already of riots around Buenos Aires.

Those people really seem quite passionate about their football.

Scummy hooligans. Argentinian clubs should be banned from all but domestic competitions.

to make this even more surprising, the Argentinian league is loaded so the so called Bigger clubs don't get relegated. CLubs are relegated over performances spanning 4 season, so River must have been crap for a while

Argentinian FA have today proposed a change to the league system where for 1 'trial' season the top 2 divisions will be merged into one division of 38 teams.
