Our keeper started moving before the player even started the run up. Just roll it in the other corner love.

Such gr8 tactics from England. You've got a female manager who shouts "Hit it long" or "Over the top" - Basically hoof it everytime they get posession. Gr8 coaching that.

Gotta dance w/what brung ya tbf

Rather touching to see that the eyes of HNA? were riveted to screens for it in any case

Pity for England, but they got run off the park by a better side and still took 'em the limit --Parlouresque opener from Jillerz

Well out on a limb here...
In an IM sent to a galpal in Germany as France were lining up the first spot-kick, I
Penalty shootouts are so often Heartbreak Gulch for England

Oh, and LOL @ the hostesseseses

I only saw extra time, but the English girls looked to have exactly the same problem as the English men, only with added exhaustion and fitness issues. They just weren't technically any good compared to France who could actually pass accurately and kick the ball straight. If not cross well.

Yeah, their only moment of superiority over 120 minutes was the opening goal, which really was a peach (if ever you spot a chicky 'keeper off her line, then have a go son)

Anything past this would've been beyond their limits --the Japan side that we saw beat Germany yesterday is more reflective of the truth than is the one that got beat by England to close out the group stage

Anyway with all of the official love on show for Sweden and Brazil, I hope the final is Japan v. France and that I'm the only one left watching

I thought the same, thought it might be a good game but it was appalling. England were absolute horrifically bad, would have been a travesty to have won on penalties.

The manager has publicly called the England players cowards apparently.

She had to ask 3 times for volunteers to take penalties before anyone stepped forward.

It's just that the ref didn't want to embarrass the player by calling attention to her naivety.

It's nice to have sensitive refs in a World Cup isn't it....?

At least they got past the second round. Didn't see Crapello and the useless men do that at the last World Cup.

What were the Aussies putting their hands up for before the woman caught it?

It comes off the post and the girl puts her arms in the air?

Oh and one of the French girls was rather good looking, which goes against my theory of all women footballers being horrific bull dykes.

Gaetane Thiney, the one with the brown hair

The other one is corrin franco, who is obviously quite attractive also.

They need to get rid of penalties from tournaments, its actually stacked more in the oppositions favor than england and I don't think thats fair. They know we are absolutely horrific at them, so why should we have to play nations who are far better at it? Can't they do 1v1's from the halfway line or something?

I assumed just generally flapping at stuff they couldn't cope with.

Had the video kept running they would probably have pulled out tubs of ice cream and started watching Bridget Jones
