soggy biscuit
Ups and Downs What were the Aussies putting their hands up for before the woman caught it?

It comes off the post and the girl puts her arms in the air?

I assumed just generally flapping at stuff they couldn't cope with.

Had the video kept running they would probably have pulled out tubs of ice cream and started watching Bridget Jones

I shouldn't but

Mr Angry since the Zaire defender came steaming out of a defensive wall to hoof a Brazilian freekick 70 yds downfield in the 74 WC.

That was amazing. And just as good as the phoenix from the flames remake on fantasy football

I remember a Two Ronnies (May have been "Not the Nine O'Clock News", now I come to think of it) sketch. They go to a womens international just to see them swap shirts at the end of the game.

Manager and many players said that loss to England gave them lesson how to compete in the final tournament against Germany, Sweden then USA.
Obviously we don't have physical strength like American, but we have shown Nadeshiko Spirit (=never give up) to come over them.
Kick off was 4am in Japan, but many wake up early to watch and Japan has been in the festival mood first time since Tsunami disaster in March.
Many of winning squad go back to Japanese national ladies football league consist of 10 teams which mainly showed with no admission charge, and many of them are part-time workers. Surely they will have more attention from now on.

The US twice had leads, twice couldn't hold the lead, then wren't able to convert 3 from the spot when it went to penalties...they didn't deserve to win. Congrats to Japan on their hard fought and deserved victory.

Bitter morons. Get oxf*rd.

What a bunch of bandwagon jumpers also, probably couldn't name half the usa womens team and never watched soccer the other 364 days of the year.
