Wycombe Royal As if we would be in with a chance of signing Nicky Maynard.

..well given some of the names mentioned on here...not sure why you think we couldnt? ......are we really not that good a club?? ...this is Nicky Maynard we are talking, not Dimitar Berbatov or the likes

Because:

a) He would cost too much
b) He is attracting the interests of Premier League clubs
c) WCBAP
d) We aren't exactly a step up from Bristol City

Apart from that, yes he is a nailed on signing.

I think Maynard was being talked about as 6M + before he got a long-term injury

Just coming back and he got 6 goals in 950 minutes played = a goal every 158 minutes

2009-10 season 21 goals in 45 appearances (1 every 177 minutes), and he's just 24.

I doubt we could afford him

Because:

a) He would cost too much ................More than Shane Long ? ...if not...then not a problem
b) He is attracting the interests of Premier League clubs.... out of interest who ?
c) WCBAP..........im sure Reading are more than able to compete with BC's wage structure
d) We aren't exactly a step up from Bristol City.....no of course we arent, continually challenging for/or getting promotion much like Brizzle are :? ...

...Snowball with due respect he aint worth £6m.... Danny Graham c£3.5m /Morison c£3m ...dont think that Maynard is double the player they are...its prb what Brizzle want but I cannot honestly see any club paying £6m for him ...except for Liverpool of course where they take a players real value and double it (Henderson) :D

a) He would probably cost around the same as Long, which is at least £3m more than we will be spending
b) This summer - QPR and Norwich
c) We wouldn't be competing with Bristol City, we would be competing with what his agent thinks he could earn when he moves
d) In terms of club stature, we aren't much of a step, it would be more of a sideways step.

Wouldn't mind getting Benik Afobe on seasons loan from Arsenal, quick striker similar to Long

What happened to Vela, or has he been sold to some continental side?

Year-long loan for him would be (would've been) OK

Was at West Brom last season, but even there I don't think he was anything more than a bench warmer.

New Striker

Now that Shane has left us, any ideas on a decent replacement. 7 million is surely enough to buy a championship proven striker

Reading to make bid for Agyemang.

McDermott is keen to bring in a more experienced striker to help the likes of Church and Manset. Agyemang looks set to sign a two year deal with the club before the end of the transfer window as he looks surplus to requirements at QPR due to the signings of DJ Campbell and Jay Bothroyd.

we have manset who is of a similar ilk to agyemang; and we need someone smaller, with pace, in the mould of shane long. brett williams is also 6ft 4? another big boy.

Agyemang, McAnuff & Leigertwood - we'd be a Reo-Coker short of Wimbledon Mk II....is Neil Shipperley still about?
