that's a bad start for the wolly with the brolly. opening day draw which has become the norm for forest and possibly a local derby knock-out of the league cup.

Pompey certainly seemed to be weakened seeing as they only had 3 subs on the bench (one of which was Jamie Ashdown)

i'm not sure of that was by choice. the last time i spoke with a pompey supporting friend of mine they didn't have enough players to fill a bench for league matches. sounds pretty dire down there at the moment.

I'm just delighted that we're unexpectedly in the draw for the second round.

:| seriously, are you autistic?

Gr8 night of Carling Cup fun, made all the better by RFC not ruining it. This is a much-maligned and disrespected supposedly mickey mouse cup but I have seen some cracking games over the years in this competition and it is a welcome distraction early in the season. I listened to the Forest vs County game, sounded a belter. Lee Hughes steps up to win the game, blasts his pen over the bar. Forest then go on to win, couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. Gr8 to see Pompey and Derby suffer. I also fancy Nigel Pearson for the sack soon, which reminds me I need to get my Sack Race nominations in.....

Blimey, Rodriguez had a good game. I know it's "only" Burton, and two were penalties, but 4 goals is pretty good going.
