Steve Coppell to Iceland?

by IcelandicStokie » 04 Sep 2011 22:54

Apparently Steve Coppell has held prelimanry talks with the Icelandic FA to take over the national side. Do you think he would do well at the international stage?

Like Hodgeson did for Finland I guess

But the perfect entry level for Sir Steve....and of course he has dealt with Icelandic players before

Now the papers over here are reporting its going to be Roy Keane. Will be among spectators at tomorrows game against Cyprus. I would rather have Steve Coppell.

Similar style of play to Coppell, two upfront with an Irishman in the hole.

Ivar Ingimarsson has told Icelandic media that he knows Coppell is interested in the job: “I know from first hand that he is interested in the job because I phoned Steven when I heard a rumour about his interest and asked him if this was true. He told me it is a very exiting idea and his agent had already put his name forward to the Icelandic FA,”

“I am certain he would be a great choice for Iceland because he is used to work with small budget clubs and get the best out of every player he has at his disposal,” Ingimarsson told Icelandic newpaper Morgunblaðið.
