It was a penalty imho, fwiw, Carragher wrapped his arm around his waist and stopped him stretching for the ball.

But yes, that comment from Motto got an equal :| from me.

Got to laugh at a Man City youth teamer making a £50m striker look so ordinary.

If its a goal though, dont they discount it from the shots on target stat as its in the "goals" column

Then the BBC have it wrong as having watched the goals, they were certainly on target and not deflections etc

Fwiw I also thought that a deflected shot on goal went down as a shot on target as well, even if the original shot was going at the corner flag.

Thomas L'Heureux Man United are just too much. 5-0 away at Bolton and could've had six or seven. I know 'City have got some fantastic players but their rivals are in a different league in terms of the style of their play. Fergie's boys have stepped it up so far this season.

Utd are certainly looking the part at the moment but was it last season or the one before where Chelsea looked unstoppable for the first half a dozen or so games? The wheels came off and Utd won the league.

I'd definitely say that at the moment it looks a two horse race, but it's still very early to rule anything out.

Wasn't Sturridge somewhere else before Man City? Derby?

Unless I'm confusing him with Dean

Villa and then Coventry but Man City where the ones who bought him through from youth to senior - hence why they got the compensation when he moved to Chelsea
