Royal Rother Just imagine the stick people would give Capello if a striker got injured in training / sent off in the 1st game and we were left with little / no options on the bench because we had a bloody passenger in the squad.

Svlad CjelliBandini As I wrote before, there's always at least one player doing nothing, so I don't believe that for the 3 group games our chances are materially improved by having 20 outfield players instead of 19.
But when Walcott was taken "for the experience" a few years ago when he was too young, we actually ran out of strikers.

Seal I wouldn't take him.
If we get knocked out in the group stages then obviously it's totally pointless having him there in any case.
If we qualify from the group stages then that means we must have played pretty well, so what message does it send to the rest of the team if you change a successful side the moment someone is available? "Cheers for qetting to the quarter finals lads, now the big boys play in the proper games"
Fcuk him. Deserves to sit at home and watch it on TV for being so stupid. If his first touch had been better none of this would be an issue anyway.

LoyalRoyalFan Who else would we take?
Bent, Carroll, Defoe and Welbeck are hardly going to worry the Germans.

Any three of them plus Rooney are unlikely to worry the Germans.

Wayne Rooney is one of the best players in the world.

TBM Of course he is, but its "cool" for England fans to knock our best/better players
Rooney would walk in to any team in the world - even Spain.

Silver Fox Being the best English player in the premier league doesn't mean you'd walk into any team in the world, even Spain.
