Whats the pub nearest the ground on the end of a row of abandoned terraces called? Its got no sign, and looks abandoned, but isn't. Its on the right as you leave the ground.

Silver Fox Are Reading fans more excited than Maidenhead fans about this game?

There's a feeling within Maiders support that this was probably the worst league side they could have drawn having played them a few times in league and cup as Aldershot came back up the football ladder. Still, I'm sure that by the time the first ever league side to visit York Road in its 140 year existence there will be a buzz in the town. BBC Berks are even doing their breakfast show from Maidenhead High Street!

Shame there's only three pool tables in The Bell these days.

1-1 final score - Aldershot were, quite frankly, dire. Good result for Maiders. Replay at Aldershot Tues 22 Nov.

"abject" seems to be the vox pop view with regard to the garrison towns show today.

Enjoyed the game and will probs be IN for the replay.

You'd go a long way to see a worse player than Aldershot's left back and the 'heads number 9.

Ashan Holgate. Works hard, zero quality. Played on his own up front and caused Aldershot no sort of trouble.

Good day, went smoothtly for the club, 2,200 crowd is around 10 times what they normally get at York Road. Disappointed to hear some rather sour comments from Shots manager Reg Holdsworth after the game - accusing the Maidenhead players of going down with cramp too easily and too often, well you are a full time outfit and Maidenhead had another game in the preceeding week whereas you didn't so give it a rest and be grateful at sneaking a draw with a side two divisions below you.

Great draw for Round 2 too; Morecamble or Sheff Wed away (currently 0-1 to Weds in the live ESPN game). Sadly, I think Maidenhead have lost their best chance of a famous away day at Hillsborough but although a late equaliser was disappointing, they aint gonna win the cup and so a replay away from home will earn them a few more quid.

Sheff Weds away is now the "carrot".

Which is a shame from a Reading point of view as whoever wins the replay will probably get turned over at Hillsborough and thus (going on the likely outcome of the replay) it'll be another season until we have the opportunity of a competive game against Aldershot.

That's why I want Aldershot to win.

So we can stuff them in the 3rd round (if they beat Sheff Wednesday of course)
