frimmers3
LoyalRoyalFan That's why I want Aldershot to win.

So we can stuff them in the 3rd round (if they beat Sheff Wednesday of course)

could you remind us how many times reading have beaten a team based in aldershot in the f.a cup?

Don't know the stat m8 - but surely it's irrelevant given that neither team has ever won it.

ANORAK ALERT! :D

... since 1934/5 we've played a total of 11 FA Cup ties v Aldersh!t.

34/5 3rd Rnd : A D0-0 Replay H W3-1

45/6 (presumably some post-war 'special') 2 legs H W3-0 A L3-7

55/6 2nd Rnd H D2-2 A L0-3

64/5 2nd Rnd H W3-1

66/7 2nd Rnd A L0-1

67/8 1st Rnd H W6-2

71/2 2nd Rnd H W1-0

77/8 1st Rnd H W3-1

...so if I've kept count that's 6 wins 2 draws and 3 defeats :P

Who cares about just the cup record, I want a chance to beat them in anything.

FYI frimmers, Soccerbase tells me the League and FA Cup record between the two sides currently looks like this

Reading wins =32
Aldershot wins = 12

We haven't stuffed 'em for far too long in my book!

I remember a 4-0 in the late 70's/early 80's

I'm assuming frimmers has invented some sort of boundary change in his fevered imagination whereby the wreck hasn't actually been "in aldershot" on the days that they've been soundly beaten

Frimmers will come back with "Aldershot were reformed, so they have yet to meet Reading in the FA Cup".

IN for the replay, bit gutted Morecambe couldn't upset Wednesday having booked train tickets for Blackpool that weekend.

Was great to see York Road packed on Saturday.

Ah ha! Because Sheffield United also got a home draw and came out of the hat first, Wednesday would have to play their game on the Sunday by the looks of it.

Why is there so much interest from Reading fans about a team with a Slough postcode?

The same reason you wet yourself when a team with a Bermondsey postcode travelled to a team with a Warrington postcode a few a years ago.

Looks like it has been confirmed for the Saturday should Maidenhead get through.

The Police in that area are pretty relaxed about games being played on the same day. I think it was last season where Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Rotherham all played cup matches in Sheffield at the same time.
