Ian Royal Nice to see we're trying to work it short. Shame we're failing to show good enough movement or passing as usual.

Well an axis of Barry, Rodwell and Jones is hardly going to be dynamic.

Just don't seem to do friendlies... is that their 5th friendly loss since winning the WC? Portugal, England, Italy, Costa Rica....?

Drew 2-2 in the end with 2 goals in the last 5 minutes. So only the 4 defeats I think with another one against Argentina.

A decent enough performance even if we didn't convert chances into goals.

We still gave the ball away a little too cheaply and didn't quite create enough but it was still promising against a reasonable opposition.

I'm hoping that the last two games have given Walcott enough time on the pitch to do his chances of making the squad enough harm! Johnson, Young, Downing, Milner and even Lennon are ahead of him in my eyes.

England 1-0 Spain
Costa Rica 2-0 Spain

Given the expected disparity between England and Costa Rica does that not show haw crap England really are

decent performance against a hardworking team, not without matchwinners
good to see us create more opportunitys from the middle, and from the wings
and some nice passing around in the last half an hour to kill the game off professionally

the performances of walker and rodwell were real plusses, and this continues to put pressure on established players

looking good, if we can just get the blend right, and not resort to the same old faces in every position, well do ok.

It's fair to say that Zamora and Carson won't be anywhere near Poland next summer.

I think the midfield 3 going into the Euro's should be Lampard, Parker and Rodwell/Jones.
Thought Lampard was excellent against Spain, used the ball better than anyone else in the team.
