Ian Royal Hoop Blah I'd probably argue the number of Coppell acquisitions you're quoting as first team squad members as well but that's another story.
Be interested to see you arguing against Ingimarsson, Sonko, Makin, Little, Convey, Hunt, Oster, Gunnarsson, Lita, Long, Doyle and Kitson. Pretty sure they're all Coppell signings.
Well for starters you've left out Graham Stack!
I was more thinking that when you said
"the main first team for Coppell's promotion was made up of 17 players of which 11 were signed by Coppell, not Pardew" I wouldn't have included Long or Makin in that number (they did both play a handful of games and contributed though so that might be unfair on them). I'd also argue that Little was actually a Pardew signing because it was him who originally brought him into the group (that's a point of view that others might not agree with) and I had a recollection that we'd also been watching Kitson and planning on making a move for him whilst Pardew was in charge.
A bit like Mills not really being a Rodgers signing I thought both of those were not really Coppell signings as such but I may have over played the Kitson links in my memory.
Either way, the fact that Coppells side included 7, 11 or 13 new players doesn't change the fact that the whole squad was, like Swansea's, put together to play a style and formation that the new manager was comfortable with it, which is the point that was being made.
Now that Rodgers has added more new players into the Swansea squad, he'll probably be up to at least 11 new faces by the end of his second season (the same time frame you're measuring Coppell on), will that then mean that your arguement doesn't stand up?
