FOOTBALL

Point taken chaps on to the Cardiff game and another win, I just hope that someting like that doesn't come to our club, they say any publicity is good publicity, not when racism is involved it isn't.

calling someone a fat C*nt isnt very nice
calling someone a welsh c*nt, is probably a bit racist
referring to someones skin colour while calling him a C*nt is worse, and unnacceptable in modern society. bloody right too

the other two should also be unnaceptable too.
though the first isnt enshrined in law as yet.

What I find strange Melonhead is that Frank Lampard is so steadfastly behind Terry, either Terry has got something on him, or Lampard is 100% of the belief Terry is innocent, as he surely wouldn't risk everything for being associated with a racist would he?

hes taking the line that it was a outburst in the heat of the game that didnt come out right, which it probably was.
i doubt terry is actually a racist, but if he said it, he should face whatever punishment is dished out, say sorry, and everyone move on

Whatever the answer is, I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with Ginger day.

I kind of thought that whilst it is not really to do with Reading, it is to do with football, especially with Sepp Blatters comments yesterday that have provoked more debate. However I understand what your getting at about some of the content, I just wonder if John Terry, detestable as he is, might be getting scapegoated here. Whatever the outcome it will affect Law and FOOTBALL, though hopefully never at our club, because it doesn't look good whether he is innocent or not.

Still, nothing directly to do with the RFC team, so  General Football

Just a few thoughts to add to this. Don't know if it's helpful or even relevant, but after 165 posts why start being so now?

Race is not the same as nationality - race denotes genetic and phenotypic traits, while nationality denotes region of birth. There is no such thing as The Welsh, English, German etc. race. Likewise, Ethnicity is different also; this denotes cultural identity – there is no such thing as the Jewish’ or ‘Muslim’ race.

Racial references are usually* considered more offensive because they carry more baggage.

And I don’t mean more black people work as porters.

*of course this is not true when a nation or ethnicity (or sexuality, or gender) has experienced similar levels of historic discrimination.

And who might that be? Certainly not Muslims or Jews. In which case, I don't actually give a shit who might disagree. They are probably cnuts.

In the 1980s, the United States Supreme Court ruled that Jews are a race,

though the question is flawed since race is an artificial social construct, and no one on this planet is, or has ever been a pure "race" of any kind

I don't care. Jewish is not a race. Many different races are Jewish, they do not hail from the same ancestory; no amount of cuckoo bollox from Team America will change that.

And if we are taking out our dingalings to p1ss on social constructs, let's just wave the yellow cable over all scientific classification and forget all this 'learning about stuff' bollox. Genetic differences don't mean sh/t, facist! Wait, I'm now dying of a neurodegenerative disease. Wish I'd paid attention to scientific classification now, instead of sitting around in f/cking tie-dye.

Why do you doubt he's racist? I've no reason to think he isn't, and a few to think he might be.

If he's done something wrong then I agree he should be punished for it, and I think racism is wrong, but just being racist shouldn't be something he's punished for. A racist act on the other hand and yes throw the book at him.
