Reading FC - mixed message

Demand for noise from our admittedly timid crowd. That's fine. But it's all very well asking for noise against the back-drop of some of the fussiest stewarding in the country. Football crowds are at their noisiest and most supportive when on their feet, the history of the culture of football supporting backs that up.

I can't see that 20,000 home fans sat politely clapping along to the drum is going to create a rocking atmosphere, absolutely deluded.

Shite, hoof-it-down-the-flanks football is also a known cause of fan indifference

Another fan complaining about the atmosphere.

The obvious thing to do is to defy the club and get Y25/26 standing. Rather than complain about the atmosphere, do something about it.

The system wears you down eventually though LoyalRoyalFan.

I used to be a young revolutionary like you once but it's just not worth it anymore. May as well accept our lot and sit in the West Stand.

Just all fooking stand. What can they do? The club is nothing without the supporters. If they ask you to sit down, say you can't you've got cramp. And everyone else say the same.

Perfect idea in principle, just cant see that many people joining in. Most of the time we sing a chorus once, then it dies down to nothing then 95% are sat down. I'd be quite happy standing for the whole game but if no one around me is, I tend to look like a nob.

Sadly, for home supporters they can - they can issue club bans.

That's the extra power they have over away supporters that everyone scrams about.

without clear guidance on where to sit of you want the different things from watching football games
its a bit tough on the small and the old, and the less standy noisy types if you all spend the whole game stoof in front of em

Stood most of the match after checking those behind were standing. The Police were taking an active interest with their cam corder. Lol at trying to look like they weren't filming when it was clearly on a tripod.

The right attitude. Y25/26 - keep standing.
