Probably because the SPL is just as bad as the MLS so they're used to playing at a crap standard.

Club football in Scotland is nowhere close to that bad, but as discussed in these pages, there's ample room for it to fall to such an abominable depth and persuasive evidence of an ever gathering downward momentum pushing it in that direction (and they might consider bringing it over here and trying to play in North American summer heat and humidity, which in all genuine possibility could suffice to kill it off once and for all)

And anyway I'd be remiss if I were to neglect to mention that it's just MLS --there's no the to it

Celtic currently 2-0 down to Hearts and about to go 9 points behind the Gers with level games played. And the OF still talk about joining the english league? Perhaps if the two clubs merged their would be room for a Glasgow club playing in England - call the new club 'Rantic', playing in green and blue hoops. And then we might consider allowing them to apply to the Evostik Northern Premier League.

The Old firm might be better than MLS level, but I doubt the rest of the clubs are.

MLS clubs have a rather bigger budget than the likes of Motherwell do getting just 5000 a game.

Completely correct apart from the number of points behind and number of games played.

A career in the BBC sport department awaits Floyd!

EBTs

by weybridgewanderer » 20 Nov 2012 16:55

Rangers Football Club has won an appeal against a tax bill over its use of Employee Benefit Trusts.

can all this talk of cheating, striping titles, unaffordable players etc stop now?

I suspect for many this will just be the "establishment club" being supported by its "friends"

There were a number of EPL times (and Bolton) that have used EBTs and were anxiously awaiting the outcome

There have been pages and pages of slanders comments on the "generic clubs in crisis" thred about rangers cheating, not paying their tax bills, this massive liability that they did not take account of...

I believe Arsenal were using the same system, but paid up as soon as HMRC went big time for Rangers.
