Why Mick McCarthy is right

by Franchise FC » 30 Dec 2011 20:53

Well, it only took one more game to show why Mick McCarthy is right.

Cabaye's tackle (very ironically) on Jay Spearing was sooooooo much worse than Milijas against Arsenal. Referee no more than 5 yards away and can't see that the half-way-up-shin tackle should have been red.

No wonder Lee Probert hasn't sent anyone off in 24 games.

Couoldn't believe it when they showed the reverse angle and Probert was staring directly at it. Cabaye's tackle was also worse than Spearing's at Fulham.

Probert and his team also missed a blatant elbow by Colloccini, on Bellamy.

To be fair, the Collocini incident was somewhat more difficult to see - and it was on Craig Bellamy so it doesn't count as a foul anyway.

Cabaye and Colloccini should both have been sent off. Milijas was a yellow at worst.

There really needs to be a rethink on what constitutes a dangerous/mistimed tackle so that the art of defending is retained in the game, football is a contact sport after all.
