Vision
Bath Hoops
Vision Such as? Who are these players that are going to want to come here and will assure us of what you want?

We dont know what funds the Russians have in mind if/when they take over. They've loaned us money (at 1% above base rate according to Dirk) as a show of faith ahead of the takeover. How much do you think the wages and transfer fees (especially in January) would be to get the sort of player you seem to be talking about given that we'd almost certainly have to compete against Premiership clubs or at best Parachute payment financed Championship clubs to attract them?

I think we'll have to wait until the summer assuming the deal goes through to know exactly how the new guys intend to go about things. In the meantime 3 players (with possibly the odd 1 or 2 more to come) who have pedigree at this level, cover areas where we needed them, are on relatively short term deals when added to Kebe's new deal, puts us on paper at least with a far better squad than the one that took us to 4th so far.

Once again I'm really not sure what peoples expectations really were if they're disappointed with this.

I know I got more excited when I read this :-

Talented Manchester United teenager Ravel Morrison is on the brink of joining Championship side West Ham.
Morrison is one of a quartet of players to travel to Upton Park for transfer deadline day negotiations, with Barnsley forward Ricardo Vaz Te, Genoa's Ze Eduardo and Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard all hoping to join the Hammers.

Now thats what I call going for it and thats why one promotion place will be taken.

What are we supposed to go for it with? We dont have new owners yet. All we have is an initial loan from the owners elect to improve the team/squad in this window. Thats what we've done.

For us to compete in the transfer market at the level West Ham are doing given the current circumstanceswould be absolutely barmy. And I can't believe fans actually expected us to do so given everything that has come out of the club before and after the announcement of the Russian involvement.

When ever I saw these cars as I child I immediately thought "Stranger Danger" and expected the driver to look something like this.

It's definitely a nonce wagon!!

Snowball Referring to this season 2011-12

For me to be wrong, Melon, will require that Connolly:

Gets fit (P), gets in the side (Q) and doesn't become a regular (~R)

OR

Gets fit (P), does NOT get in the side (~Q)

I am saying P >> Q >> R, If P then Q then R

If P >> ~Q then you are right.

If (P >> Q) >> ~R you are also right

~ = "not"

Of course he might not get fit.

He might play CB (unlikely. but Pearce might "get an injury"...

He might play LB (more likely)

Note, originally I said nothing about what position he would play

Whilst in someways it's admirable to try to communicate in formal logic on a football messageboard, on balance, I've come down on the side of the view that it makes you seem like a twat.

FWIW I think it means if he gets fit, gets in the side and becomes a regular, then snowball is right but if he gets fit and doesnt get in the side or if he gets fit and doesnt become a regular player in the side the melon is right

Well it was pretty obvious first-off but Melon managed
to infer all sots of bollox, so I just thought I'd be precise

Now here is an exciting rumour. Gozie Ugwu to Ebbsfleet on loan.

According to TEAMtalk's Rumour Room: "Just been told by a friend of mine who works near Reading FC's training ground that Michael Owen has turned up there for a medical, would be interesting to see Roberts and Owen up front for the Royals."

Can't see anything else now to be honest.

I am happy with the 3 bought in this window.

The summer could be very interesting!

Judging by tonight's result they'd be better investing in some defenders...

Yeah, why the hell aren't we in for that price? They have carew, cole, baldock, maynard, maynard, sears and apparently vaz te. etc I HATE modern day players. " oooo lets just west ham they are such a wonderful big club, I don't care about playing for the first team its an honour to sit on the bench". Greedy, brain-dead scum.

who says we weren't? it looked for the most part that the boy was off to the premier league, and he'll be disappointed that it hasn't worked out like that tonight. west ham would have offered stupid wages in comparison to anyone outside the top flight, so had we made a late move there was little chance he would have swapped west ham for us. not all players we are interested in makes it into the media.
