My mistake, Celtic, couldn't care less about Scottish football tbh and knew it was one of the two.

Friday's Legacy
SCIAG
moo We almost signed Cahill and Lescott a few years ago. Never believed how genuine the bids were.

Lescott yes, Mensah yes, Scott Brown yes. Not heard of us bidding for Cahill though.

i seem to remember we were linked with him and could have matched bolton's offer but coppell was happy with what we had. or that was the line that came out of the club. at that time we had a broken sonko wasn't the same as before that knee injury, and a mad man in andre bikey. bad bad decision that one.

And then we ended up with Duberry aswelll... Oh dear

:D I wouldn't worry anyway, one suspects brown enjoys being a big fish in a small pond in Scotland,

RepressedRoyal Can someone take Test icicles to Rangers V Celtic and video him asking a Gers fan how Scott Brown is doing for them. That will a Youtube video not to miss.

if I want to experience incoherent educationally subnormal drunken Scots talking bollocks I can take the circle line

Maguire CMS is no longer value for money as far as i'm concerned. Brighton bought him at the right time.

No point in lashing out over the odds on players.

I agree mate. CMS is good but he's not that good.

I really don't know why he doesn't see ALF as the guy who's gonna get us the goals this year. He would work perfectly with Roberts. There must have been a falling out between the 2 of them for him to fall behind Hunt and Church in the pecking order as he's 5x those players

It does seem a bit strange that Alf has fallen behind Church, but maybe that was when we didn't
have an obvious target man. It might change now if Roberts gets fitter and avoids injury.

Prior to Roberts my top two would have been Hunt-Alf; Hunt for his work-rate where he actually does stuff
like tackle people, get the ball, pass to team-mates, shoot (ordinary stuff like that)

But Alf's range of passing is superb and he really is a very good goal-scorer.Maybe in training McDermott
has Roberts partnering different strikers to see how the pairings go. Hopefully Alf shines then

But I expect it will be Roberts-Hunt.

McDermott doesn't agree with you so there must be some sort of problem? ConspiROFLacy.

ALF had a chance, had a barren patch, Church more recently got a flurry of goals and Hunt is the senior striker at the club (excluding Roberts). I don't agree with the decision, but the logic is pretty easy to follow.

leon Exactly, no point wasting 3m on CMS. Doesn't mean we won't spend that in the future.

agreed. The fact we could have gone for them is so encouraging. If we get promoted I wonder what calibre of player we will be dealing with.

Simon Church

Friend of mine is the performance analyst for Brighton and speaking to him last week he said that we did offer 3 Million + Church as some papers speculated but Poyet wanted to keep him.

I think the days of Church are limited if he doesn't start following in the footsteps of Long/Doyle.
