Carlos Tevez

by Friday's Legacy » 12 Feb 2012 16:35

has today announced he will return to england on tuesday and wants to get back into the man city squad and help them win the premiership.

obviously he's a quality player and this can only be a good thing for city - if he can make amends with his team mates and keep his nose out of trouble, but should mancini let him play? is it a risk, upsetting team spirit? or is it a boost to their attacking options having him back?

I think the problem is their midfield, they don't create enough for their strikers, it's just Silva they rely on.

Maybe he's skint and needs to start picking up some money again?

I expect this is just the next play in Tevez's game to utterly fcuk Man City over. I dare say that if Tevez is fully fit, training hard and declaring himself ready to play, City would be in breach of his contract if they simply refused to consider him for the matchday squad.

So why are they talking about Tevez coming back to improve their squad? I was saying they don't need Tevez they need another creative midfielder. Not as if in January they didn't lose 4 win 3 and draw 1 game.

So you didn't notice that a big black bloke who has been destroying other midfields all season has been away in Africa?

Oh yes because he is there right now, and i'm talking about what they need right now. Barry still doesn't do it, they normally play 5 in midfield, so yes they do need another midfielder.

The other thing you may have missed is that it'll take Tevez at least two weeks to get anything like fit enough to play - by which time the big black bloke at the ACN will be back

Er perhaps it is because Tevez is a very good player who, when his head is right, could improve any squad in the PL. Whether you think he is the personnel they need or not there is no doubt that a fit and focused Tevez would improve their squad.

indeed. i'm not sure how insulting his manager further is going to win him a place back in the side. i would welcome him back, do the pr and then stick him in the reserves to rot until the summer.

.....thought Mancini said that Tevez would NEVER play for Man City EVER again

That was the end of it wasn't it?

As I inferred in my post near the start of this thread, I don't think Mancini has a choice, ultimately.

How many contracts have it stated that a player must be considered for selection if the player is fit?

If you consider the extreme that a club could sign a player with no intention whatsover of playing him for the duration of his contract, and the impact that absence from playing would have on that player's value in the market, I'd imagine there must be something in these contracts that stipulates how fit and able players must be treated, in the same way as Tevez would be expected to presented himself as available to play if he is fit.
