Chaney If proof is needed after the Fulham non penalty, Lee Mason and his assistant have just re-enforced the belief that united do get the rub of the green, offside not given, slight touch penalty given and to top it off a red card.......absolute fvcking joke.

Royal Rother How can the lino not flag for offside against Young? I just don't get it.
I run the line in my son's football and, whilst I appreciate it is a different pace altogether, those sorts of decisions are really not difficult to get right. He was exactly in line with Young, the pass was only travelling a short distance to him and he was a full yard offside.
Absolutely pathetic from the linos this weekend.

Royal Rother No sorry, that doesn't mean anything. You're going to have to do a bit better than that.

parky Football will never change, as a higher level referee I can tell you that people don't want football to change, everyone enjoys the controversy and debate that surrounds the game.

cmonurz ^Agreed.
I'd also like to see an end of the policy that says that if a referee has 'dealt with' an incident, the FA cannot review it. Taking Pugh's tackle on Karacan - retrospectively Pugh should be given a three match ban for that, it is a ridiculous situation that that ban could be levied, but that if Drysdale had booked him, it could not.

101% agree with your observations and solutions. Think I posted something similar 2 or 3 years ago, less than comforting to know, nothing has changed.Mr Angry The other issue that is getting totally out of hand is the amount of physical contact that goes on in the box at the time a set piece is delivered; holding always happened, but in recent seasons it has become farcical, with the sort of contact that anywhere else on the pitch gets a free-kick..
The solution? Simples.
Penalty if its done by the defender, free kick if done by the forward.
After a few weeks where 3 or 4 penalties get awarded per game, teams will soon instruct their defenders to learn to defend without recourse to watching wrestling shows for tips.
