The FA Cup Final

by Victor Meldrew » 05 May 2012 13:03

It shows how far this has fallen in the eyes of football fans that at just after 2.00 p.m. on the day of their match and with Reading not playing nobody has raised the topic.
ESPN are doing their best to make the occasion on TV just like it used to be with hours and hours of build -up.
Well done to them and as a subscriber I'm so pleased that I won't have to listen to the cretins on ITV.
As for the game Liverpool have a very good record against Chelsea But Chelsea have a very good record in recent FA Cup finals.
Too difficult to call the result but I still think of it as a big game and will enjoy the occasion.

Will be watching down the pub, but TBH it really does not feel like Cup Final day. Well done the FA in doing everything possible to devalue the cup!

There's loads of photos on twitter of various stickers that Chelsea fans have been putting up all around Wembley. You don't need me to tell you through nature of them.

But with a 5:15 Ko and pubs packed from before 12 i can see a lot of trouble.

Which of course i will be vvanking over all bank holiday weekend.

More people singing and pointing at each other. How will the authorities cope with the modern day HooLOLigans?

Can't get excited by the scum-bowl. Pretty hard to care which bunch of vile racist thugs end up winning.

Cup final day when I was a kid was so exciting even if I hated both sides. Remember getting up and watching the build up from early morning - no man or boy was out their house.

Now it's squeezed in among other fixtures and now moved to 5.15

Probably not over the line but in this day and age it should be a definite rather than a probable or possible.
Liverpool gave Chelsea too much respect in the first half and although they were the only side trying to make the running (once again Chelsea had 0 corners)Chelsea through Drogba and Ramires again scored on the break.
So that's two big games where Chelsea have played this ultra defensive way but credit to them, once again a couple of shots on target and a couple of goals and I have to say their shots to goals ratio is fantastic.
Not sure what will happen to Di Matteo-Abramovich has sacked managers before for playing dull football so he may end up like Avram Grant in getting the team to a European Cup final but still getting sacked.
