Avon Royal

No Fixed Abode Kelly might be a decent prospect, but I'd rather have players in the squad with CL experience. Most of these Liverpool players don't have that. And those that do haven't played in it for so long, they're not up to it now.

Obsessed.

Do you have any idea how stupid you sound when you claim that other people are obsessed?

No.

Good first half for Roy. Gerrard and Green have been a bit shite, but apart from that very acceptable.

Downing looks threatening. 8)

I am sorry but Phil Jones is absolutely shocking. He has had a mare tonight!

Jones is a centre back and always looks out of position anywhere else, to me anyway

Think Henry Winter sums it up quite well

Not a classic, enduring concerns in possession, but some encouraging signs: Young good, Baines too. Ox fearless

Game didn't exactly whet the appetite for the European Championship.
As the commentators said, once Gerrard went off the team lost it's drive-what can you expect with Milner in midfield?
Jones,once again not very good.
A reasonable workout though but watching England is as dull as watching Chelsea.

Not many teams go away to Norway and play them off the park, so we should hardly have expected to.

The real test comes in 2 weeks, friendlies mean very little.

As way of comparison:

Spain 2-0 Serbia
Switzerland 5-3 Germany
Netherlands 1-2 Bulgaria
Portugal 0-0 Macedonia
Norway 0-1 England

Of the 5 major European teams in action today, I'd say that England's result is easily the most impressive.

If you want the best rankings of international teams you'll find them (with one exception I can think of) in major international competitions.

Fair enough, at the last major tournament 5 European teams got to the knock-out stages. Guess who they are... :o

Only saw the first half but Carrick must have been regretting his decision after seeing Gerrard wander around like a lost pup trying to dictate play from deep  Awful.

Milner was alright but I still think he should play centrally and Young looked lively.

Thought Gerrard did ok as it happens. I still don't think he shows quite enough discipline or awareness to play that deeper role against better midfielder though, but against the weaker teams where we want to attack a bit more he's more than capable IF he can find the form he's not shown over the last few months.

Jones again looked a bit dodgy at right back which is a shame, and Walcott yet again showed what panic his pace and running can cause, but also how much he wastes good opportunities too often.

Carroll did ok considering the lack of decent service he got. I don't think Young was quite as good as they made out on the TV, although he was our main threat, and I'd still expect to see him out wide when the real games kick off.
