TBM Cross bar challenge, 5 goes each then sudden death

WimbSchards#2 Have the penalty shoot out after 90 mins and then play extra time. The shoot out result only counts if it's still a draw. Ensures at least one side attacks in extra time, makes the shoot out slightly less pressured and takes a bit of the stigma out of missing the crucial one as there's 30 mins for everyone else to do something about it
Actually really like this one.

Stranded How about a behind closed doors shoot out. Both teams take five pens against a nominated 3rd party keeper in isolation. Only the ref knows the final score. Game is played and if a draw after ET only then is the result announced. If the shoot out was a draw as well, only then is a sudden death shoot out undertaken.

Extended-Phenotype If you draw, neither team goes through to the next round.

Tony Le Mesmer Dont really see what wrong with pens. Its part of the game in normal time, many a league game is decided by a penalty being saved or scored.

Wonderful - then next year's Championship would have 23 teams and League 1 have 25

Maguireblindedbythelights My idea, which I have gone so far as emailing the FA, UEFA and FIFA with before is
a dead ball shoot out within the arc of the box.
Player puts ball anywhere they like within arc, keeper remains on line like with pens, player has 1 kick.
Much more exciting than pens imo
more skill required
emphasis much more on keeper to save
So basically exactly the same as a penalty shoot-out only with the ball moved further away?
Inspired
