new TV Deal

by ZacNaloen » 13 Jun 2012 16:16

I'm posting this because there is some suggestion there is a third party bidding for PL rights, and the hints are it's al jazeera.

Results are supposedly going to be announced at 5pm.

Not sure I can afford three football subscriptions if it's true

Microsoft, Google and Apple are rumoured to be interested. EPL football is proven to drive audiences and their all about delivering content to as many people as possible.

a lot of double bluff going on as it is a blind auction. PL were making out that Al Jazeera were involved to try and make Sky bid higher. but then people were saying Al Jazeera weren't interested.

then the bidding went to a second round. that would imply that either Al-J or ESPN have gone in big.

It is of course all thanks to the interfering tossers at the likes of the FSF shouting that it's unfair that Sky get all the football that we might ending up paying three times

If Al Jazeera had a free channel, or struck up a deal with someone like virgin media to air the channel free... (therefore driving subscriptions to that service... win win for both)

Yeh just dreaming. :?

BT won the A package (as well as F) so will have the pick of the games. No idea what pubs are going to do if the games are only available on BT Vision.

Does anyone actually have BT Vision?

Up from £1.78bn to £3.018bn, about 70% increase. Foreign deals will probably push money figure higher!
