Prize breakdown (not official), far too much time on my hands

Equal Share £24m
Facilities Share £11m
Finish 4th Bottom share £5m
Oversea TV money £18m

£58m Total

TV money means we can have our 25 man playing squad earning an average of £44k a week and then still have gate receipts for over expenses such as academy, I've left out VAT as we won't need to pay that any more having Russian owners :) but taking out VAT of £10m would leave us with £48m meaning we could pay our 25 man squad an average of £37k a week.

All other club activities should bring in a minimum of £15m, £12m gate, then we have sponsorship, food & drink, Irish, cup games, merchandise, Should more than cover the other expenses, academy, reserve team, maintenance, directors pay.

Think this means we could try to sign some very good players, have a feeling though, we're build a squad the Reading way.

Parachute payments should be £27.2m first two years and then £13.4 for the next two years, meaning the playoff game next year will in theory be worth £135m absolutely mad

Wimb Big blow for ESPN... wondering if they'll just make it a free to air channel after next season as can't see that many people subscribing for Rugby and a bit of European football. Suppose ESPN America makes it a bit more appealing but I'm shocked they've lost out.

Don't they also have the excitement of the SPL

Could do worse by striking a deal to take some Conference level football. Least it'd be a step up from the SPL and be worth watching.

ESPN's surely won't be worth paying for if all you're after in 2013/14 (year deal runs out) is 25 FA Cup games.

Hoping for more European football myself.

You'll still have to pay extra for the games though

if my flats would actually allow us to have dishes, then SKY is massively better than BT Vision, but seeing as i have no choice its adequate. The on demand stuff is pretty good, especially America's Hardest Prisons.

But if every club in the PL has more money, it will cause inflation in the market. A £5m player could become an £8m player. A £40m player could become a £60m player. Surely the only advantage of this is buying foreign players.

Agents across the world know what the PL rights are worth and what they can get for players, so there's not even really any great benefit in buying foreign players - the only advantage there is in this is to players, their agents and the local Mercedes and Ferrari dealers.

Overseas rights will be worth another $1.5-2bn

BBC paid 40% more for their highlights package.

Very very good year to be promoted.

Is there ever a bad year to get promoted?

I suppose 1939 for Blackburn and Sheff United was pretty dire.

Fair point - but one can imagine the desperation to get out of the Championship this season will make it even more competitive than normal...

Thankful to be right out of the Championship next season... Cardiff, Birmingham, Blackpool, Bolton, Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Brighton, Leicester, Ipswich, Hull and Wolves are more than enough to make it a little on the tricky side

According to Chris Brady (football finance expert), the new Premier League TV deal will be worth £10m more a season to Reading if they stay up.
