World's longest football match clocks in at 52 hours

The teams, representing Peterborough and Reading, kicked-off shortly after 10am on Friday and did not finish until 2pm on Sunday.

Reading won the game, in aid of charity Free Kicks Foundation, after scoring 895 goals to Peterborough's 808.

Didn't hear about this until now. Fair play.

Saw him last Thursday the day before he was doing it, he was just off to play footy - crazy, couldn't imagine playing for 3 hours, let alone 3 days

Flip flops was easy Nah i didn't play last 10 as i did 42 hours last year so let another guy play on the pitch past the 52 hr mark. Was tough especially at 3am kicking a ball that felt like concrete, shattering your leg as you couldn't run as so tired and achy. Got through it though and for a worthy cause... and yes just has to be verified but a World Record as previous was 44 or 48.
