Ticketing Shambles - Another balls up by RFC

by LoyalRoyalFan » 19 Aug 2012 11:42

I see now that you don't actually have to register for a member card to be able to acquire tickets for our home games.

Why have we had this system in place for years, now suddenly changing it when the demand for tickets will be higher than ever?

Where have you seen this?

Of course, a lot of these comments *could* have been passed to STAR - but they're not interested unless you're a member. (and not a member of HNA).

It's nothing new - tickets cost more without a membership card than with, but I've never needed membership cards for my family when I've bought tickets for them.

What has the got to do with STAR, a question posted on HNA? or should STAR be proactive and stopping this sort of thing from occuring in the first place?

OK I'll bite from both you and HSSC:

1. It's not about me at all, I have a ST, as I have had for more years than I can remember, so I was merely interested on behalf of other people.
2. My reference to STAR being that if there, genuinely, were a few gripes or whatever about some sort of ticketing shambles, it would have been good to have been able to tell STAR, as they are meant to be representing the fans. But, my point was that STAR aren't actually bothered about anything that anyone from HNA says.

Therefore, if you have a complaint/comment/suggestion - it would appear you have to go directly to the club themselves. I'm sure they won't be inundated with such things, but I reckon they'd prefer a representative from STAR to collate such comments/queries/complaints/suggestions or whatever, so they could be dealt with appropriately and by the appropriate people, if it was deemed necessary to do so.

For years I have been doing just that - the only difference is that I have asked people to make the massive contribution of sending me an email not just posting on here. But I can tell you that for many that is too much effort, hence the lack of enthusiasm for taking anonymous complaints, but for those who have bothered we have tried to resolve the problem.

as pointed out earlier it is a misapprehension anyway

A related suggestion - and it might have been made before. But in the spirit of trying to work with STAR, and also ensure that the views of those on here are heard by the club - would any nobber be prepared to act as a STAR/HNA liaison from our perspective, and email all of our respective gripes/comments to STAR for them to take forward?

Maybe I am missing a point here. As ST holder I have never had to buy tickets for someone without a member card so I am not fully up to speed with the rules. My understanding is that it has always been the case that tickets go on sale first by Royalty point limits so regular attendees get some semblance of priority. Then they go on general sale to all member card holders and by the time match day comes around (at some point along that timeline, anyway) they are effectively on general sale (if any are left).

Has something changed or am I misreading what happens?

Why not cut out the middle man and just bloody email them yourselves? I'd imagine info@star-reading.org would get there, please correct me if I'm wrong. Given the number of WUMs etc on here it's fair enough for STAR to ask for a real name before they take representations forward.

Indeed I have an issue arising from Saturday's match and I'll do just what I said above and see what happens.

Oh hilarious

I'll be contacting the club myself with any problems/suggestions or whatever if and when I have any.
