Stuboo Was anyone elses gut reaction to the Rooney injury the same as mine? - 4 weeks! What a pansy. Talk about wrapped in cotton wool. Terry Butcher finished a game with his head soaked in blood!
It may well be fair enough, I am obviously not an expert. I'm just saying that was my gut reaction.

Ian Royal Even relatively trivial head wounds bleed like a bastard. And of course head wounds aren't in the major muscles used for playing football.

True guys. Perhaps I didn't express my feelings clearly. I can see that it might not have been possible to patch the wound up so that Rooney could continue the game, it being his leg and all, but four weeks seems excessive to me. Can't they just bang some stong stitches in there, bandage it up, and let him get on with it.

cmonurz Boring Liverpool indeed. This is one hell of a match, two teams playing end to end attacking football, Skrtel nods Liverpool in front.

E. Andrew Sterling makes even the likes of Yaya Toure look big. He'll have to grow or learn some fancy footwork to stay on the ball.
