cmonurz I don’t understand the mindset that sees people use these horrific disasters (whatever their cause) as a plaything, to wind others up, to score points, just for the ‘lolz’, or whatever. There’s no genuine sentiment in the OP by Big Ern, and my point was that that sort of thing can only be written, and used as he has, by someone who hasn’t experienced such a loss on a personal level. Surely.
Mean no ill-will towards Mr Ern, although I can see how my post might have looked differently – but there are some who quite genuinely can’t empathise with others‘ loss, or a tragedy, until something like that happens to them, it’s just not something they are capable of. If someone Ern knows and loves was killed in a football stadium disaster, do you think he would come here and piss around about Heysel and Hillsborough? Of course not.
Big Ern Surely time for Justice for the 39 Juve fans killed. At the time, the only extraditable offence was manslaughter and only 3 year sentences handed out.
It is time these murderers were given a the proper punishments for their crimes.

What did you have in mind, the identifiable offenders have already been tried and convicted.
There should have been a better investigation into the authorities preparation and response but there's no chance of that since they know it was a cock up and they shouldn't have had opposition fans so close with little separation or so few police.
Maybe it's time Juventus put up some sort of memorial for those that died, you know, like the one the Liverpool has.

Is that anywhere near the Atomium? If so, I walked near there last year but didn't have a closer look. Think there's an astroturf nearby too.

Granted there are the usual WUMs here who use it as a petty excuse for a dig etc. But at the same time, I can completely understand many Juventus fans turning their backs on the Kop spelling out 'AMICIZIA' as though that would make everything alright and constitute an apology so many years after the event. For a set of supporters who suffered so badly at Hillsborough and the aftermath, it seems an odd discrepancy that, given the apparent empathy such an event should bring about, it took so long and so much to reach out to the Juventus fans (not least because Liverpool fans played such a direct role in the tragedy and were in part culpable).

Reading4eva Definately unfair on the likes of Coventry, who should have had there moment of glory in Europe
Another sad moment, but unfair by both sides to pin the blame on one another. In fact the ground wasnt up to the big occassion, and again if some sort of health and safety was in place would of been prevented.
