ZacNaloen fa or referees board?

Just sounds like a feeble excuse for getting decisions wrong. "We'll you didn't say anything"

Well a) they did b) they shouldn't have to.

Exactly. Reading the story in the EP just makes me think WTF? We're meant to have respect for officials and yet they seem to be saying we'll only give some decisions if you make a nuisance of yourself. Well it's just stupid and implies all players have to take an unsportsmanlike attitude to get any justice on the pitch

It does sound fvcking irritating. Obviously it goes against everything the clubs are told, and also suggests that the officials are pretty weak-willed. I would hope we make an official complaint about this kind of thing. It suggests bad decisions aren't so much bad luck, which is really, really annoying. We could have had 3 more points right now if you look at those games... Would make the world of difference.

BMcD My concern slightly, or more than slightly, is the conversations with two people now; the match delegate at the Chelsea game said that my players didn't appeal for the (Fernando) Torres offside goal, and the fourth official said to my goalkeeping coach that only two of my players appealed (against Newcastle)

You couldn't make it up.

Appealing is moot unless there is a procedure in place to use video to reverse a decision.

On the Bibbo one especially, I'm sure it was a case of the 4th official defending the refs decision under criticism from and saying something to the effect of "it can't have been that obvious as only a couple of your players even appealed."

More to the point though, you shouldn't have to appeal for a decisio but it's human nature for a ref to take more consideration over a decision if players are questioning it. Once it's given it's very unlikely to get changed, unless the questioning results in further conversations between the actual officials.
