You take the Sky dollar and they are legally allowed to do you up the arse.

Conspiracy theorists will argue that part of the reason for this is to actively discourage people from attending away matches and take out Sky subscriptions instead. After all, Sky don't make any money from people going to matches.

They'd be wrong then - as conspiracy theorists often are.

There is a definite commitment to away match attendance in the PL (*) - because they recognise that the value of their broadcast product comes partly from the noise and atmosphere of two opposing sets of supporters.

(*) Not enough to get their member clubs to do anything about ticket prices or match scheduling, of course, but still a definite commitment to away match attendance.

Response from Reading:-

The TV fixtures are decided by Sky and ESPN from 17th September as is stated on the reverse of the fixture card. As always with TV fixtures the club appreciate that fans are eager to know which fixtures could be potentially changing and as soon as they are informed the Website/Twitter Feed and Facebook page will all be updated accordingly.

So, no further forward I'm afraid. At least they'll update us in the usual ways...

If only it was possible for the club to have a presence on the internet where fans could go for club news, rather than waiting for updates on twitter and facebook.

gazzer, loyal royal Got told Saturday it's pretty certain reading arsenal will be moved to the Monday night

Our cup game with them is on Sky now, so not sure they'll go for the same game twice in 2 months

Question is, have Sky picked our game because they expect us to get a Cov style whipping and can then spend studio time raving about Wenger's youth policy, or because they fancy us to cause an upset against said team of kids and can then spend the studio time discussing whether Arsenal's kids are good enough?

I suppose either scenario is easy for them to report on. I bet they've already written the copy for both situations.

Just about to book a cheap flight for the Newcastle game on 19th January but I presume this game could still be moved for TV?

No Europa League games preceding it and the fixture list for that weekend is:

Chelsea v Arsenal 15:00
Liverpool v Norwich City 15:00
Manchester City v Fulham 15:00
Newcastle United v Reading 15:00
Southampton v Everton 15:00
Swansea City v Stoke City 15:00
Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United 15:00
West Bromwich Albion v Aston Villa 15:00
West Ham United v Queens Park Rangers 15:00
Wigan Athletic v Sunderland 15:00

Surely Sky / ESPN wouldn't chose our game.....would they??!
