winchester_royal You think calling every single fan in the away end a 'vile animal' is okay?

Let's play that game then.

You think thousands of people chanting that Jones is a paedo is ok?

You've got a guy who has suffered these chants on and off for years, and it has come to a head on the same night his goalkeeper is punched in the face. As I said, it's remarkable he stayed as calm as he did.

Despite apologising for the fan who decked Kirkland, Colin couldn't leave it.....if was a joke to say he went down like a tonne of bricks, it was poor.... If he was serious...well....

No I don't, but it wasn't 'thousands', it was a minority. Some of those Leeds fans will be vile animals of course, but in that crowd the majority will be normal football fans who went there to support their team.

He would have been well within his rights to go after the hooligan, or the minority who took the chanting too far, but don't tarnish every fan with the same brush.

Is it understandable why he was so upset? Yes, of course. However he hasn't done himself any favours with what he said.

Agreed. Shocking, surprised the interviewer let that one go.

Quite.

Warnock has never been tactful but mostly due to his mind games. This was not the time for that and he's made himself to look as much of a cock as the fan who assaulted (there is no other term) Kirkland.

After the glow of the Olympics and subsequent sporting heroics, football has showed its true colours in the last week. A game that surrounds itself with mindless idiots whilst being swamped with cash. A very dangerous cocktail indeed.

Whilst I can't see it happening, the second the PL gravy train hits the buffers I'll be celebrating with a glass of something more palatable.

Ermm, he really hasn't you know.

It was a daft comment to have made but he condemned the idiot in no uncertain terms in several different responses.

Ermm, whilst I agree with the sentiment of your post, I'd say that the last week or so has been a shocking reminder of how football used to be in this country, rather than the state it current finds itself in.

I'm with cmonurz on this one. Dave Jones gets called a brendy throughout the whole game, his keeper gets attacked and colin takes the p1ss. I'd be fucking furious. I'm not sure the fact that Leeds fans are vile animals is up for debate? They are.

Some but not all.

Jones was given ample opportunity by the interviewer to single out the vile portion but instead chose to tarnish all.

Not saying he should be punished for what he said or anything, as it was understandable for his emotions to be running high at the time.. Just pointing out that he didn't do himself too many favours by being quite so irrational.

His reference to Kirkland going down like a ton of bricks was completely inappropriate. It was a less than subtle way of trying to deflect attention from the severity of the offense. Ill judged but in character.

Did he fuck. I thought for a man who was utterly fuming he held himself in check pretty well. Also I think he might have just come straight from a fight with Colin according to what he said, so fair play. And yes, all of them are.

I`m surprised an arrest hasdn`t been made yet, there were very clear pictures on SKY, the fans were still in the ground and they had to come out, why weren`t the police waiting for him?

5,000 people coming out of 2 exits - good luck with that!

He would of changed coats, borrowed a hat and long gone.

Police happy to play a waiting game. With his Facebook account wide open they will already know his contacts and likely hangouts!

Still posting on his FB so the police haven't caught up with him yet - very surprised no-one has snitched on him yet tbf.

And if I were Dave Jones, I'd have found it impossible to keep my emotions in check - so well done him.

How can this Aaron Cawley bloke have been "banned" 3 times and still keep attending games? What's the point of a banning order.
