Why don't the fa stick to the same team of officials every game then they can get to know easy other and make better decisions ?

because the assistant refs have their own matches to officate over in the lower leagues. If you're an assistant in a game it is a level up from what you usually ref.

Refs did well with the red cards in the TV games this week: Adebayor, Hangeland and the Leeds player committed red card offences and got sent off. They'll never be able to see incidents with the same clarity that a TV slow motion replay does, so there were a couple of dodgy handball/penalty incidents, but at least players like Adebayor, Hangeland and that Leeds thug can have no complaints about inconsistency.

Assistants also have full time jobs to do.

I am sure that the assistant team from Devon would love to go regularly with Lee Probert to Stadium of Light on a Tuesday
night and then St James Park on a Saturday etc.

They used to - a few years ago "teams" trained together and officiated the same matches together. Not sure why it seems to have broken down.

I've noticed some of the most glaring mistakes this season are in fact from the assistants rather than the ref, something needs to be done about that.

Bad one for City's first pen against Villa.

I remember for the goast goal the linesman hardly got anything stick for it and everyone blamed Atwell...

Warnock was moaning like mad I read..so i guess it was a red card for Varney and Colin is just looking for excuses.
